"Dude.. This fucking song. I originally thought I was writing it toward an emotional connection I have with experiences from my childhood. As the lyrics and furthermore, the emotion progressed.. I realized.. This isn't about the ones I always knew I had no connection with.... But more so about the people I've had close to be claiming to take their place. Growing up in the foster system, being adopted, all the things you think would make a life like that much greater.. often was the least likely to be happening. You should feel safe and be given a safe place to talk, vent, and "be". With the recent passing of my biological grandmother, it's made this song so much more meaningful, powerful, and emotional for me. As she was the only one from that side of my life that I DID have memories & relationships with.
I hope you enjoy this entire project.. as I've truly pored my all into these 3 songs. Giving opinion and insight
